Curfew in Germany: departure and arrival from and to the airport

The German travel companies are in contact with the responsible authorities to clarify to what extent exceptions apply for travel to the airport, as in the past. According to our information, travelling home after landing after 10pm is considered a valid reason and is therefore not affected by the curfew.

At the moment we are planning with the existing flight schedule. We have already adjusted the flight times of TUI FLY flights until 15 May 2021. The flight times of the X3 flights up to and including 31May 2021 will be adjusted successively as far as possible. If you are affected by a change in flight times, you will be informed. Of course, we will do our utmost to give you a relaxed start to your holiday.

CURRENT TRAVEL INFORMATION for returning travellers to Germany

TUI INFORMED: Mandatory testing before return flight & a wide range of testing options

TUI INFORMED: obligatory testing before return flight & various testing possibilities

        Dear TUI customers,

The Federal Government is extending the general obligation to test holidaymakers abroad before their return flight - as a prerequisite for entry into Germany - until 30 June 2021. The uniform federal regulation applies to entry from all areas, not only from risk areas.

The test is an antigen/ PCR test that must be carried out by medical personnel and within 48/ 72 hours before entering Germany. An official document with the test result must be presented at check-in at the airport.

        New:

        • People who have recovered and those who have been vaccinated are basically treated the same as people who have been tested. Anyone who has proof of recovery or vaccination within the meaning of this Ordinance does not have to show a negative test result.
        • In the case of entry from a virus variant and high incidence area, the convalescent and vaccination immunity does not apply. Even convalescents and vaccinated persons require proof of testing.
        • Uniform federal regulations on quarantine for persons entering the country after a stay in a risk area are in place. For tested, vaccinated and recovered persons, the quarantine obligation ends at the earliest five days after entry if they submit appropriate proof to the competent authority.
        • Entry from so-called mutation areas (virus variant areas): For all persons (also for vaccinated and recovered persons), the testing obligation applies as well as the obligation for a 14-day quarantine. Even a second test cannot end this quarantine prematurely.

In the case of a positive test result, with Covid Protect we give our customers the guarantee that, as a rule, you will not have to pay any additional costs during your holiday in connection with Covid-19 that are not covered by regular travel health insurance.

The new arrangement will not stand in the way of a carefree holiday experience. There is sufficient testing capacity and many providers or opportunities to take a test.

Detailed information can also be found at the Federal Ministry of Health of Germany.

        ( as of 12 May 2021)

The above information is additionally stored in the MEINE TUI portal for all customers registered in MEINE TUI.

We will create a personal TUI travel credit for you for the payments already made. The payment already made becomes the TUI travel credit. We have also reduced the final payment period in the crisis period from 28 days to 7 days, so we ensure that you do not have to make a final payment if your trip has to be cancelled. In addition, depending on the amount of your travel credit, you will receive - as a thank you for your loyalty - an extra of up to 150 euros on top or a refund of the payment already made. As soon as the TUI travel credit is available for redemption or payment, we will inform you here and on this page.
